Greetings

Dallas has few diversions other than eating, drinking and shopping.....and shopping does not interest us.
So we spend our time hopping from restaurant to restaurant and to every pub that we can find in search of the perfect meal and the perfect beer.

We randomly review restaurants and bars, dishes and beers at whim and give our brutally honest opinions of our findings. And while we concentrate on Dallas, we travel far and wide to sample cuisine from all regions of the country and beyond.

Crabbies Ginger Beer

I get many requests to pass information on to you, many from people who obviously don't read the blog.  Mostly mass market beer releases that I, and hopefully you, would not drink, so I ignore them.  This was such an odd request and an odd drink that I decided to pass this one on to you.

If you have tried this ..  this  ... beer, please send a review on to me and I will post it here.

CRABBIE’S ORIGINAL ALCOHOLIC GINGER BEER

HAS ARRIVED IN THE LONE STAR STATE

TEXAS, TX – The United Kingdom’s number one selling bottled beer, Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer has arrived in Texas. Famed Crabbie’s (4.8%) is fermented with the finest imported ginger and steeped for up to eight weeks to allow the complex natural flavors to fully develop, creating a smooth ginger beer with deep, deliciously spicy flavor and a sparkling finish. Crabbie’s is a refreshing ginger beer – only for grown-ups – that is ideal served chilled over ice with a slice of lemon or lime.

“We’re thrilled to bring Crabbie’s to Texas and share this tremendously refreshing drink with beer lovers from the gulf coast to the panhandle to the Rio Grande,” says Phil Clarke, general manager of St. Killian, the exclusive US importer of Crabbie’s.

Crabbie’s is currently available in Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin and Waco where it is distributed by Favorite Brands. In Houston and San Antonio it will be distributed by Silver Eagle.

Since Crabbie’s entered the U.S. market last year, it has received high praise. Crabbie’s was recently featured in a “Taste Test” via Huffington Post: “the UK’s best-selling ginger beer is finally available in the U.S., and we are quite pleased about it.” Bon Appetit called it “a ginger beer that lives up to its name” and Crabbie’s was named “Best in Show” by greater San Francisco’s Fairfax Beer Festival, where it held its own against some of the nation’s top domestic craft breweries. The Weekly Pint named it among their “Class of 2012, The Top Brews to Find and Drink Right Now,” and 7x7 featured Crabbie’s as one of their “Healthy Beers for the New Year.”

Scottish merchant-adventurer John Crabbie first imported ginger from the Far East into the ancient port of Leith, Edinburgh in 1801. Today, more than 200 years later, John Crabbie’s still uses the same ginger to develop the one-of-a-kind flavor of their ginger beer.

Crabbie’s is currently available in 31 states for purchase in two formats: a four-pack of 11 ounce bottles and a larger 16.9 ounce bottle. Ideal for sipping, it can also be blended into a variety of ginger beer cocktails, such as a Dark and Crabbie and the Moscow Mule.

Inquiries about Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer should be directed to Crabbies@StKillian.com. For more information about Crabbie’s, please visit them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter and Instagram @CrabbiesUSA.
